Maui was an experience of a lifetime. I was surprised by our congregation at Christmas with a card that said have a great vacation and the money for a plane ticket. As I sat on the beach, drove around the tiny island, hiked trails and sat on the top of Haleakalah, I drank deeply of the beauty of God’s creation. However, there is one picture that keeps drawing me back. In a small town sat a little green church. As I passed by, I thought, “Who would want to be stuck there?” In the echo’s, I heard back, “The joy and passion of serving is being where God calls you, not in the size, the paycheck or the praise of others.” As you experience these pictures, may you experience God’s joy and passion for beauty.
