24 Prayer

24 Prayer

24 Prayer:

Prayer is the heart and soul of our ministry here at Crossroads.  Because we believe ministry must be rooted in prayer, we set aside 24 hours every two months to focus our efforts on prayer.  We lift prayers for people in our community of believers.  We offer up prayers for the community of Corvallis.  We lift up prayers for other churches in town.  We offer up prayers for our national and international leaders.  We offer up prayers for the work God is doing around the world.

24 Prayer begins usually on the first Friday of the month.  At 7:00 pm we gather for a community time of prayer.  This is a time where we pray together, seeking God to guide and lead us in our times of prayer through the next 23 hours.  Following communion together, individuals take periods of time in one hour increments to cover the church in prayer for 23 more hours.  At 6:00 pm on Saturday, we again gather for a time of community prayer.  We take a few moments to thank God for listening and spending time with us during the previous 24 hours.

We understand that the passion and urgency for pray can only be initiated and sustained by God.  So as God has motivated us to pray for our Church, our community and the world we have set aside 24 hours every two months to pray.  In unison let us lift up to God those requests and petitions that are given to us by others and those which are placed upon our hearts by the Holy Spirit as a burden.  As we begin to pray, let us know that the work of ministry is prayer.  Let us intercede on behalf of others.  May all we do be rooted in prayer and may we always give all the credit to God for the answers and the work we see done in us and through us.

Prayer Lists

Our pastors have put together lists to be used for prayer during 24 prayer. If you'd like, use these to begin a life of prayer.
